How to use the TechMap

1. Navigating the TechMap

Once you "Click Here To View The Map", place your mouse pointer inside the red box located on the smaller map box in the upper right hand corner of the screen. With the left mouse button remaining pressed, move the red box around to see the map on the left respond, allowing you to navigate the larger TechMap.

2. Getting Organization Information

• Click on an organization to get more information. A small information box will appear next to the organization.

• You can click on the web address to go to the organization's home page or click on the email address to send an email message to the organization.
  * Click on the "More Information" link at the bottom of the information box to get more detailed information from the TechMap website.

• You can turn the box off by clicking on the same organization again or by clicking on the red "X" in the top right of the information window.

3. Locating an organization on the map

In the top, left-hand corner, there is a drop-down box title: "Locate an organization on the map". Select an organization from this box to automatically centre the map on any organization, and mark it with a spinning red star.

4. Highlighting sectors

To easily see which organizations belong to which sectors, you can turn the sector indicators on and off. You can feature as few or as many industry sectors as you want on a TechMap by checking off the boxes on the right hand side of the screen.
